TOPIC: Good Ground TEXT: Mark 4:3-8, 14-20.  

MEMORY VERSE:Luke 8:8 “And other fell on good ground and sprang up, and bare fruit an
hundredfold.

TEACHER’S OBJECTIVE
To teach children about keeping the word of God in their heart.
To lay emphasis on some things that could steal away the Word of God from our heart.

CENTRAL TRUTH
Your heart is important.

INTRODUCTION
Revise last week’s topic with the children.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
1. Jesus told us in the parable of the sower about different kinds of grounds.
2. We have learnt that our heart is the ground and the seed is the word of God.
3. The word of God did not prosper in the first three hearts because of some things.
4. These are the cares of the world, deceitfulness of riches and the lusts of other things.
5. As children of God we should guide our heart with all diligence against the above mentioned     things.

LIFE APPLICATION
The four soils represent four different ways people respond to God’s word. We must strive to
be liked good soil in every area of our lives at all times.

MESSAGE OF SALVATION
Without Jesus in your heart you cannot obey His Word and be a good ground.

CONCLUSION
The heart is a battle ground of life: you need Jesus to win it.

CHALLENGE
What is the state of your heart; is your heart wicked, full of sins and all manner of evil?
Why not determine to make a change?

INVITATION
Jesus is calling you today. He wants to make your dark heart of sin white as snow. If only
you will surrender your life to Him today.
